This cowl is for the Malabrigo Rasta collectors. Using 9 different colors but small amounts of each, build on your existing stash to create an Atlantic vista to warm you when beach season comes to a close. This cowl is one size, finishing about 8.5” high and with a generous 22” circumference. Made on large needles, it whips up quickly. Not into a deep sea coast? Change the colors to create a tropical or sunset view…the choice is yours!
Requires the following techniques:
-casting on and binding off
-knitting in the round
-knit and purl stitches
-some stranded colorwork
-duplicate stitching
Gauge is suggested, but not significantly important. Pick your favorite super bulky yarns and have a ball! To recreate this design as closely as possible, 9 different Malabrigo colors were used. You could easily substitute others and create something beautiful!
This is also a great pattern for markets, booths, and festivals, if you’re looking for something new and fun to offer customers.
Required materials to complete include:
+Super Bulky weight yarn (#6) such as:Malabrigo Rasta, Baah Yarn Sequoia, or Dream In Color Saavy
9 Colors are needed for a total of roughly 75 yards
+Size US 15/10mm circular needles, 16"
